Open Universities take an Online Mode for Admissions

It is seen many times that after HSC, many students in rural areas join their traditional business, occupation or farming. Therefore, Open universities provide the much-needed opportunity to continue higher education for these students.

IGNOU has started BSc and MA (education) courses at its Nashik regional centre from this academic year only. The IGNOU centre at KTHM College offers master degree courses in Business administration, Computer application, English, Economics, History,  Public administration, Hindi, Commerce, Political Science, Sociology, Tourism Management, Social works and Rural Development.

Yashwatrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) has also started its online admission process with good responses. It has been decided that from 2015-16, the admission to all the programmes of the university would be through the online process. The university has also implemented digital process for the examination and valuation of question papers.
