Chandigarh postpones Class 9 and 11 exams over COVID

In the view of COVID crisis, the Chandigarh government schools were to conduct the class 9 and 11 compartment examinations were postponed till further notice. The exam was scheduled to be conducted from May 15, 2020. Over 4,450 students were to appear for these compartment exams.

Students are advised to check the official website to get more details. The fresh dates will be announced soon on the website.

The dates of the exams will be released a week before their commencement of exams for the candidates.

The district education officer Alka said the postponement of compartment exams is postponed as possibility of opening schools at the moment is negligible. The education officer added that the exams would be conducted only after the schools reopen.

The conditions in the country are not conducive for the exams to be conducted at this large scale, she said. More than 4000 students have to appear on the exam for which the govt would have to take many health precautions for safety and sanitization if the children.

The results were released in April and the candidates had been awarded grace marks of 30. The passing percentage of class 9 was 72.2 per cent and in class 11 550 students were not passed.
