The application window for UGC 2020 scholarship has been extended by the University Grants Commission. The UGC has also extended the end date for verification of applications by institutions of students, including re submission of defective applications until 15th December 2020. Eligible students are required to submit the scholarship application through the National Scholarship Portal on the website – scholorships.gov.in.
These include the Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC), Ishan Uday Special scheme for North Eastern Region (NER), PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate (URH) and PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST candidates (PGSPROF). The application process for the scholarships commenced on 1st September 2020.

Institutions eligible have also been advised by the University Grant Commission to verify the applications of their students immediately upon receiving the applications on the official portal.
Meanwhile, in another notification released recently, the University Grants Commission has also extended deadline of admissions for September-October academic session for the year 2020-2021 for the distance and open learning programmes offered by Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) across India. The revised date notified by the UGC for the completion of admission process in open and distance online mode has been extended to 30th November 2020. The admission process was earlier scheduled to be over by 31st October 2020. The Commission has also asked the HEIs to upload the admission details on UGC DEB web portal by 15th December 2020.
