Gorakhpur to become ‘Special Education Zone’: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan has announced today that Gorakhpur will become a ‘Special Education Zone’.

While addressing the concluding programme of the 89th Founder’s Week celebrations of Maharana Pratap Education Council on Friday as the Chief Guest, the education minister mentioned that Gorakhpur had developed as a Knowledge City with the establishment of three functional universities.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur and Mahayogi Gorakhnath University are the functional universities.

The Ayush University is currently under construction and it is estimated that the state government will spend Rs 815 crore on the construction of the university. Around 52-acre land has been acquired near Pipri and Tarkulhi villages for its construction.

The state government is focusing on prioritizing education, which will give a major boost to education in UP.

The education minister added that the idea is to groom students and make them capable. It will address the problems of the world through academic pursuits.

He mentioned that the new National Education Policy under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been prepared to align with the strategic changes in the global scenario.

The education minister wants to involve the students of Gorakhpur in education and make them globally aware and competitive.
