
IIT Guwahati researchers have created materials that will aid in the design of smart climate control systems in buildings, which will conserve energy and minimize carbon emissions.
The development of powerful automated climate control systems in buildings will be aided by such smart window materials. Their findings were recently published in Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, a journal dedicated to solar energy materials and cells.

The climate control system, which uses energy-consuming equipment to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and brightness, is the primary energy consumer in buildings. As a result, the heating, cooling, and lighting loads in every building are significant energy-consumption segments.
