Delhi University to begin semester

Delhi University to begin classes for the fifth semester on July 20, 2021. However, the examinations are to be conducted from November 30. According to the notification issued by Delhi University, due to the pandemic the university conducted the examinations only for the terminal year students and the present second-year students will begin the final year classes from the end of July 2021.

The sixth-semester classes will begin for students on January 1 and will continue until April 28, 2022. In addition, theory examinations will be conducted from May 11, 2022.

Students in their second and third year can visit the official website of the university to check the academic calendar for the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth-semester students for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Third-semester classes for the current batch of first-year students will begin on August 31, 2021, while for students taking admissions for the 2021-22 academic session, classes will commence on November 18, 2021, said the university.

The fresh admission of Delhi University got delayed due to the Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown. The university will begin the registration process for admissions to undergraduate courses from July 15. However, the Class 12 results for several boards have been announced and many are yet to be announced. However, Delhi University is yet to release details on the process of admission for freshers.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the timeline for school affiliation applications for the session 2022-23.

The timelines for new registration, extension of affiliation, and upgradation have been extended to July 31, keeping in view the current situation of COVID-19, the CBSE said recently.

“The Competent Authority of the board after due consideration and reviewing the current COVID-19 situation has further extended the window period of online application for fresh affiliation, up-gradation of affiliation and extension of affiliation till July 31 for the session 2022-23 without any late fees,” it said.

SARS is CBSE’s new affiliation system, which came into effect on March 1. The board is restructuring the system on basis of various recommendations made in the new National Education Policy (NEP) for systematic reforms, the CBSE had said.

“The board is restructuring the affiliation system and process as per recommendations of education reforms in the NEP. Although the CBSE affiliation system has been online since 2006, the restructured system will be completely digital and based on data analytics with least human intervention,” CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi said earlier in January this year.

Currently, the CBSE has over 24,000 schools affiliated in India and abroad, with over 2 crore students and more than 10 lakh teachers.

IGNOU extends the Re-Registration date till July 15

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadlines for the re-registration till July 15. The students can register on the official website.

“The last date of Re-Registration for the July 2021 Session has been extended till 15th July 2021,” the official notice read.

Re-registration applies only to students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate or semester-based programmes of two-three-year duration.

Following are the steps to re-register with IGNOU July session:

1) Visit the official website ignou.samarth.edu.in or ignou.ac.in.

2) Enter the details such as enrolment number, select the programme or course and enter registered date of birth after singing in to the admission portal.

3) The portal will display the student’s details and pre-filled admission forms.

4) The candidates will proceed for the online payment gateway. You can use internet banking system or credit and debit card to make the required payments.

5) A receipt will be generated confirming the admission.

UPSC declares NDA Results 2021

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), declares the NDA results 2021. The results are available on the official website of UPSC.

The interview round for the shortlisted candidates will be conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defence. Candidates can check NDA results through their roll number on the websites.

The course is scheduled to begin on January 2, 2021.

The examination for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2021 had been postponed.

According to an agency report, the education ministry is considering conducting the April and May sessions of JEE Main 2021 Exams in the months of July and August.

Further more, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate 2021 Exam is likely to be pushed in the month of September. The registration process for NEET UG is yet to start.

SC to hear plea on delayed counselling process of NEET MDS

The Supreme Court to hear the plea against delay in the counselling process of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and Masters of Dental Surgery, or NEET-MDS, by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on July 2, 2021.

This matter gathered attention after Advocates Tanvi Dubey and Charu Mathur filed a petition in the court against an “unjust and infinite delay caused by MCC”.

Last year on December 16, the exam for NEET MDS was conducted and the results were announced on December 31, 2020. Since then there has been a delay in conducting the counselling process for the postgraduate dental exam.

Karnataka Govt. likely to discuss on reopening of schools: Education Minister

Karnataka Government to set up a task force including subject matter experts and Covid technical advisory committee to decide on the reopening of schools in the state, said the primary and secondary education Minister, S Suresh Kumar recently.

The minister said, “the task force will decide when and how to open the schools. It will also decide on Vidyagama 2.0, which people have been demanding.”

He added that students learning should be continuous and regular. The tasks force will be deciding on this. The government will issue guidelines soon.

Bihar ensures strict discipline in all the schools of the state. The education minister, Vijay Kumar Choudhury, said that the state government has decided to appoint headmasters in all schools.

The process to create new vacancies and posts for headmasters in all schools is underway, the minister told reporters recently. “The government is keen on bringing qualitative improvement in the educational institutions by filling up the vacant posts of teachers and ensuring infrastructural development,” he added.

Gujarat Board has declared the GSEB SSC result 2021 for Class 10. The results are available on the website of the board. The students can enter their school index number to check the results online. Around 17,186 students scored A1 in the board results.

Patna University will begin admission process in July

Patna University (PU) has decided to begin the admission process for the new academic session from July 2, 2021. This is a major relief for the students.

Prof Anil Kumar, dean of students’ welfare, said, “Interested applicants can fill online admission forms through an online portal. We are yet to decide the mode of selection as we are waiting for Raj Bhawan’s direction in this light. However, we are hopeful to commence the academic session on time which begins in the first week of August.”
