TOEFL, a recognized English assessment test used by institutions to judge language proficiency now accepts rupee as a mode of payment. Students can now pay in Indian currency to appear for the TOEFL iBT test. The new payment choice is available to test takers by selecting the credit card option through the TOEFL online registration system.
As payment is no longer limited to US dollars, Indian TOEFL test takers paying in rupees will no longer incur currency exchange fees charged by most debit and credit card companies. It is part of a wider goal to accept other local currencies around the world to increase access for students.
