India recently pledged to provide a grant of nearly Rs 41 million to Nepal for the construction of a new, three-storied school building under Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme. The financial aid will also help in creating better facilities for over 1,000 students, about half of whom are girls.
The decision comes as a part of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the embassy of India, district development committee, Kapilvastu and Shree Higher Secondary School located in Kapilvastu district.
The school established in 1979 is currently in dilapidated condition and is unable to serve the growing requirements of the students.
Furthermore, India is assisting work for three other projects worth Rs 95.60 million in Kapilvastu District.
