BIT Mesra and IIT Kharagpur sign five-year MoU

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in research, academics, and innovation. The partnership aims to foster interdisciplinary research and enhance opportunities for students and faculty members.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on joint research projects, co-supervision of PhD scholars, faculty and student exchange programmes, shared laboratory facilities, intellectual property development, and academic initiatives. The partnership will also support technology development aligned with national priorities.

BIT Mesra Vice-Chancellor Indranil Manna said the collaboration will create new opportunities for students and researchers while promoting innovation-led growth. Both institutions aim to build a stronger ecosystem that bridges academia, research, and industry.

The MoU reflects a growing trend among leading higher education institutions to work together on solving real-world challenges through collaborative research and knowledge sharing.
