A total of 496 students have qualified the medical entrance exam (NEET UG) from Delhi government schools. Out of this 51 students are from one particular school.
“Wow! Sooo many students from Delhi govt schools have qualified NEET. Unimaginable till a few years back. I congratulate students, their parents and teachers. Together, you have shown that “It is possible”,” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
Kushal Garg secured 700 marks out of 720, he bagged 165th rank and grabbed a seat at AIIMS.
“History created by a Delhi govt school student Kushal Garg. He has secured 700 marks out of 720. All India Rank 165, secured seat at AIIMS. Father 10th pass, carpenter. Mother 12th pass , Housewife Congratulations Kushal. Proud of you,” he tweeted.
According to the sources, 51 students are from Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar who have qualified the examinations. In fact, 28 students are successful from a government school located in Paschim Vihar. 16 students are from IP extension school, 15 each from Loni Road and 14 from Delhi government school located in Rohini have cleared NEET.
A total of 569 students from Delhi government schools had cleared the entrance examination last year. Over 15.44 lakh students appeared in the examination this year. The exams were conducted in 3,858 centres in 13 languages. Around 8.70 lakh candidates cleared the exam.
The NEET UG was held on September 12, 2021. The students qualifying the entrance exam will get admission to to bachelor courses in medicine and surgery (MBBS), dental surgery (BDS), ayurveda, unani and homeopathic among others in premier medical colleges like AIIMS and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry.
