The Punjab cabinet has decided to give Rs 2,000 as a one-time internet allowance to all students, studying in higher educational institutions. The move will help them to attend online classes in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases.
The decision will benefit about 8.67 lakh students. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi informed about this decision post a meeting with the state cabinet.
According to officials, the move will target all the students from higher education institutions and the districts officials have already been asked to prepare a database with the college and university authorities to ensure that no beneficiary is left out.Be a part of Elets Collaborative Initiatives.
