Karnataka has solidified its position as a hub of innovation, with its schools making a remarkable impact at the ATL Marathon 2024. Out of over 19,700 submissions nationwide, Karnataka schools secured an impressive 84 projects as finalists, demonstrating the state’s unwavering commitment to nurturing creativity and problem-solving among its youth.
Mysuru’s Excel Public School (EPS) emerged as a standout institution, contributing 11 finalist projects—a record-breaking achievement for any school in the competition’s history. EPS’s consistent participation in the ATL Marathon over the past six years has firmly established it as a leader in fostering young innovators.
EPS students presented a range of innovative solutions that address critical societal challenges. Their projects included a traffic rerouting device for flood-prone areas and a solar-powered medicine vending machine. These innovations showcased the students’ deep understanding of real-world problems and their dedication to finding practical solutions. The projects also spanned various sectors, including agriculture, education, disaster management, and environmental sustainability.
The success of Karnataka schools, particularly EPS, can be attributed to the robust support ecosystem within the state. This thriving environment has enabled Karnataka to become a powerhouse of innovation, ranking 2nd nationally with 15,019 startups in the state.
