Tata Metaliks’ skill development centre in West Bengal

To set up a skill development centre in West Bengal’s Paschim Midnapore district, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Tata Metaliks Ltd (TML), a foundry grade pig iron and ductile iron pipes manufacturer, and the Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development (PBSSD).

The MoU was signed in presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and state’s Industry and Finance Minister Amit Mitra.

The skill development centre will train 1,000-1,200 youth annually through a reputed National Skill Development Corporation-approved training partner in vocational courses, an official communiqué said.

The initial focus will be on plumbing, electrician, carpentry, beauty & wellness, hospitality and security courses, it added.
