
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. The meeting involved officials from the Ministry of Education, the National Testing Agency (NTA), state governments, and higher education institutions to ensure the exam is conducted smoothly, securely, and transparently.
Pradhan directed all authorities to maintain the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency while ensuring a stress-free environment for candidates. He also instructed state nodal officers to provide essential facilities and strengthen coordination with central agencies.
The review covered security protocols, logistical arrangements, grievance redressal systems, and real-time monitoring mechanisms. Ministry-designated officers will be deployed across states to coordinate activities and report to a central command centre headed by the NTA Director General.

The NEET-UG re-exam is being conducted after the original May 3 examination was cancelled due to alleged paper leaks. The government has intensified measures to restore public confidence and ensure a fair examination process.
