Himanshu Pandya appointed as vice-chancellor of Gujarat University

The Gujarat government has appointed Himanshu Pandya as the vice-chancellor of Gujarat University. Himanshu Pandya has been appointed for the post for the second term of three years.

Pandya had stepped down as vice-chancellor after his term ended on May 15. But Pandya was being considered for a second stint and the state government had in the meantime appointed Jagdish Bhavsar as the pro vice-chancellor after the appointment got delayed.

A search committee to look for a new vice-chancellor had been formed three months ago but the entire process was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.

Pandya first became the vice-chancellor on May 16, 2017.
