What Makes GEURS Unique? Ranking Methodology Demystified
The Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS) is the only ranking focused exclusively on graduate employability, based on insights and assessments directly from employers. The methodology consists of four distinct steps:
1. Employer Insights
The survey begins by gathering input from employers worldwide, identifying their challenges in workforce development and their expectations from higher education institutions. This feedback shapes the metrics used to evaluate employability.
2. Voting Process
Employers, including qualified international managers with a direct role in recruitment, vote for universities based on their employability standards. With over 1,000 universities in consideration, each respondent is allowed up to 10 votes, ensuring a robust and diverse selection process.
3. University Selection
Universities with the highest votes are featured in the GEURS Top 250 Employability Ranking, reflecting a consensus among global employers on which institutions excel in preparing students for the job market.
4. Performance Justification
Employers justify their choices by selecting up to six criteria from a list of 35 categories, offering detailed feedback on what sets the top-ranked universities apart. This ensures a transparent and comprehensive evaluation.
The GEURS 2025 rankings, produced by French consultancy Emerging in collaboration with Times Higher Education, highlight the increasing importance employers place on skills like adaptability and work experience, including internships, when assessing potential hires.
