Gujarat government to set up Indian Institute of Skills

The Gujarat government is establishing an Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Nasmed village in Gandhinagar district, the government said.

The National Department of Labor and Employment is establishing the institute in collaboration with the Tata Group on a non-profit PPP model, according to the statement.

A high-level team from the Tata group visited Gandhinagar on Thursday and made a presentation to government officials, after which Vipul Mittra, additional chief secretary of the labor and employment department, asked them to start work as soon as possible.

According to the press release, the state government has allocated around 20 hectares of land to the institute in Nasmed village, 20 km from Ahmedabad.

The institute will train specialists in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, additive manufacturing, augmented reality, systems integration, cloud-based applications, and simulation solutions.

Although the state government has made land available to the institute, the Tata Education Development Trust contributes to the capital investment.

At least 5,000 students leave the institute each year, according to Mitra.

In addition to Gujarat, the Union government also approved IIS in Mumbai and Kanpur, according to the statement.

Providing huge relief to students, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the Combined Defence Services (I) final results 2020 on its official website- upsc.gov.in. Candidates who have appeared for the exams can check their UPSC CDS (I) 2020 final results online.

A total of 95 candidates have been selected for admission to the 150th course of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training Course.

Marks of the candidates will be available on the website after declaration of the final result of Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) for CDS (I) 2020.

The number of vacancies is 100 for the Indian Military Academy. These include 13 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ certificates (Army Wing) holders, 45 for Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala Executive(General Service). Six vacancies are reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders (Naval Wing) and 32 for Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (03 vacancies are reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate(Air Wing) holders through NCC Spl. Entry.

UPSC had recommended 2614, 1429, and 632 as qualified in the written test for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy, respectively.

JEE Main 2021 admit card for February expected soon

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) 2021 Admit Card for the February session, will be released next week. According to the official announcement, the ticket is expected to appear in the second week of February. Once published, the entry ticket will be available for download on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Details about the test center, assigned schedule, and registration time can be found on the admission ticket. Students are encouraged to check the website for the latest updates. Please note that no personal communication will be sent regarding the release of the entry ticket.

Registered applicants need to download the ticket from the official website after publication. The link is activated on the home page. The preliminary publication is expected to take place on February 10, 2021. As of yet, the date and time for the launch of the entry ticket has not been announced.

The National Testing Agency, NTA, would take the JEE Main 2021 exam in four sessions this year. Students have the option of attending one or all sessions. The exam would be a computerized test. On February 23, up to 6.60 lakhs of candidates registered for the exam. A total of 21.75 lakh candidates have registered for the four phases of the JEE Main 2021 exam, scheduled for February, March, April and May 2021.

Bihar Schools to reopen for students from Classes 6 to 8 from Feb 8

“To date, the states and UT have sanctioned a total of 1,063 residential installations (383 residential schools and 680 residences). The decision was made to change the name of the boarding schools and shelters funded by the Samagra Shiksha program to ‘Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Indian Residential Schools’, the sources said.
