CBSE to provide training to school principals

In the light of Corona pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting an orientation cum training programme on Alternative Academic Calendar. The Training programme will be conducted for the teachers and principals on July 17, 2020. The training will be done through Google Meet.

The CBSE Chairman and the NCERT Director Dr. Hrushikesh Senapaty will be giving addressing and interacting with the principals who will be participating in the programme. All the principles of the schools affiliated to the board along with its teachers are required to participate in the Alternative Academic Calendar Training programme.

The schools principals will have to join through devices in which they java logged in with email ID available at cbseshiksha.in. The programmes will also be webcasted through social media platforms of the CBSE and the links of the same will be provided through the CBSE-CoEs and e-Sandesh.

The Alternative Academic calendar was developed by the NCERT for Primary and Upper classes in April 2020 while the revised calendar was released on July 7, 2020. The revised calendar contains reduced topics and rationalization of syllabus up to 30 per cent for 190 subjects for the students from class 1 to 12 as a one-time measure.

NITI Aayog launches free online course for school students

To provide digital education to students, NITI Aayog has launched a free online course for the school students under the Atal Innovation Mission. The course title ‘ATL App Development Module’ has been launched in collaboration with the Indian Homegroup start-up Plezmo.

With the free online course under the AIM flagship the Atal Tinkering Labs initiative, the skills of the school students will be transformed from being App users to App makers.

NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said “The Prime Minister has been encouraging the citizens to use technology and innovation for an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. It is important for the young in the country to learn skills at a young age and enable themselves to become the next generation of technology leaders. Under the Atal Tinkering Lab initiative, AIM, NITI Aayog is launching the ATL app Development Module for the young minds in the country, the CEO further added.

The online module consists of 6 project-based learning modules and online mentoring sessions where the young innovators can learn to build mobile apps in different languages and showcase their talent. School teachers will be provided with periodic Teacher Training sessions for conducting the courses online.

More than 5100 ATLs have been established in more than 600 districts across the country by Atal Innovation Mission with more than 2 Million students provided with access to the Tinkering Labs.

Meghalaya Board declares MBOSE HSSLC Arts Result 2020

Meghalaya Board has formally declared the MBOSE HSSLC Arts Result 2020. The Meghalaya 12th Arts Result 2020 has been published only online and results are available on official websites- megresults.nic.in and results.mbose.in.

Going by the official statistics released by the Meghalaya Board, girls have outshined boys, when it comes to the HSSLC Arts Results 2020. The overall pass percentage for girl students from regular stream has been reported at 85.84% as compared to 76.45% pass percentage among the male students.

For arts stream students who appeared for MBOSE HSSLC Exam 2020 under regular mode, the overall pass percentage is 81.93% whereas for students from non-regular stream, the pass percentage stands at 35.22%.

NIOS declares assessment scheme for cancelled exams

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has announced the cancellation of NIOS 10th and 12th Exams 2020. The decision was announced by the NIOS Board through an official notification published on its website i.e. nios.ac.in.

Along with the cancellation of NIOS 10th and 12th Exams 2020, the board has also issued a new assessment scheme that has been put together by the Results Committee of the Board. According to the assessment scheme, all NIOS students who have appeared for the exams previous and passed them in at least 4 subjects; the average marks of best three subjects would be awarded as theory performance for which exams have been cancelled.

For students, who are appearing for the first time in NIOS 10th and 12th Board Exams 2020, their performance in Tutor Marked Assignments / Practical marks will be used to calculate their performance in the cancelled subjects.

According to the official notification, learners or students who have not been able to appear for the complete exam for 10th and 12th Class, will also be provided an option to re-appear for the Next Public Exam or On-Demand Exam, as a one-time measure, if they are not satisfied with their performance allotted on the basis of new assessment scheme.

Haryana Board declares BSEH Class 10 Results

After much anxious wait of students, the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has declared the Haryana Board class 10th results. A total of 3.37 lakh students had taken the class 10th exam out of which 64.59% passed.

Students can check the Haryana Board class 10th results on its official website bseh.org.in.

This year, the pass percentage of Haryana Board has gone up by 7.2% as compared to last year’s 57.39%. However, as many as 87, 070 students have failed the examination and 32,501 have got compartments. Girls have outshined the boys by 9.59 percentage points. The 69.86% girls have passed the board examination as compared to 60.27% boys.

According to reports, Rishita, a student of Tagore Senior Secondary School n Narnaund, Hisar, topped the Board of Secondary Education Haryana (BSEH) Class 10 exams. The second position went to five students from Hisar — Uma, Kalpana, Nikita Maruti Sawant, Sneha, Ankita and third position went to nine students – Chahak, Rohit, Kumari Kiran Kumawat, Himanshi, Anshu, Manu, Bhumika, Saloni and Garvita.

CBSE to provide marksheets of Class 10 and 12 via DigiLocker App

After much deliberation, the CBSE has begun the last stage preparation for the declaration of CBSE 10th and 12th Board Results 2020. According to reports, the CBSE is planning to issue the marksheets and other documents related to CBSE 10th and 12th Result 2020 via DigiLocker Mobile App.

The Board, recently, sent an SMS to all the Class 10 and 12 students, instructing them to download the app and create an account for CBSE Results 2020. The CBSE 10th and 12th results 2020 will be based on the new assessment scheme announced by the Board.

The CBSE Board would be providing digitally signed copies of these documents to the students via DigiLocker App, that will help them submit these documents for admission procedure for higher studies.

DigiLocker App is a mobile app launched by Government of India to help citizens obtain digitally signed copies of certificates for various government services, which also includes Board Exam Result Marksheets and other related documents.

The CBSE Board has already created default account for its students on DigiLocker Accounts. However, to access these accounts, students will have to register on the App using the same mobile phone number provided by tem at the time of the registration of their Aadhar Card.

CISCE declares ISC Class 12th results 2020

After much wait, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced the ISC 12th result 2020. Students can access their ISC result 2020 class 12 from the official website cisce.org. The ISC result 2020 will also be made available on results.cisce.org and through SMS service.

After the declaration of ISC result 2020, students can obtain digitally signed copies of mark sheet, pass certificate and migration certificate from DigiLocker. This will be made available after 48 hours of the announcement of the result. Students can register to DigiLocker with their mobile number followed by creating a username and password.

Pass Percentage for ICSE/10th is 99.3% and ISC /12th is 96.8% respectively.

After long and anxious wait of students, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has declared the ICSE 10th result 2020. ICSE 10th 2020 result is now available on the official website- www.cisce.org. More than 2 lakh students appeared for ICSE Class 10 exams which were conducted from February 27 to March 18, 2020.

The Council has announced the Class 10 and 12 results on the basis of the alternative assessment strategy formulated.

With an aim to provide the ICSE / ISC Results access to students easily, the board will also make the result details available via SMS. Type ICSE<Space><UID> (for 10th Class) and send it to 09248082883 to get results.

SC refutes to entertain plea over school fees hike

In a major development, the Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea by parents from different states seeking deferment/moratorium on school fees for the COVID-19 lockdown period. The top court asked them to approach the high courts’ for relief.

A bench of Chief Justice S A Bobde and Justices R Subhash Reddy and A S Bopanna said: “Fee hike issue should have been raised before the state High Courts. Why has it come to the Supreme Court? Each state has different problems. It’s a intensive situation. “Problems in each state are different. Parties are involving jurisdiction of this court as an omnibus case. But these are fact intensive situations in each state and even each district.”

Advocates Balaji Srinivasan and Mayank Kshirsagar said the Punjab and Haryana High Court has allowed schools to charge hiked fee. The bench told the counsels, the petitioners can file an appeal against that order of Punjab and Haryana High Court. “It would be a stroke of genius if you can solve everybody’s problems,” the bench said.

The top court said that it is not inclined to interfere at this stage and the petitioners may withdraw plea and approach the high courts. Parents move to SC Parents of school going children from different states have moved the top court seeking a declaration of moratorium or deferment of payment of school fees during the COVID-19 induced lockdown. The plea also sought that the Centre and all states be asked to direct the private unaided/aided schools to only charge the proportionate fees based on actual expenditure towards the conduct of the online virtual classes and no other fees from the students since April 1 till the commencement of physical classes.
