NEET 2019: Exam on May 20 for train-delayed Karnataka students

NEET 2019

In a major relief for 365 students of Karnataka, who missed the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) due to railway delay, the HRD ministry has issued a fresh date for the exam. The students couldn’t appear for the exam on Sunday as the train in which they were travelling reached the Bengaluru station with a delay of 07 hours.

Announcing the same on Twitter, HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar said, “Happy to announce that #Karnataka students who missed #NEET exam due to railway delay will get another chance”.

Notably, Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had urged the HRD minister to hold the test for the students who missed it for no fault of theirs. Mr Javadekar’s response came a day after and was much cherished by the chief minister.

“Thank you @PrakashJavdekar and @HRDMinistry for considering the request and helping our students,” tweeted Kumaraswamy.

Notably, the exam was scheduled to start from 2.00 PM but the students who were travelling in Hampi Express from Hubli to Mysuru via Koppal, Hospet and Bellary, reached Bengaluru over 7 hours late at 2.36 PM, instead of 7.00 AM.

The railways admitted the delay but attributed it to the diversion of the train route from the normal route, owing to doubling of line work and operational reasons since May 3, 2019.

Interestingly, apart from these 365 students, another set of 150 students also missed the test owing to the last minute change in the exam centre. As per reports, their exam centre was shifted to Bengaluru from Chikkaballapur without prior intimation or information to them.

They could not commute to the city, which was 40KM away from the initial exam centre, by 2:00 p.m and missed it for no fault of them.

Mr Kumaraswamy has asked the state Chief Secretary T.M. Vijay Bhaskar to request the HRD Ministry for holding the test again for the 150 students. HRD Ministry has assured the state that a decision would be taken soon, reads a post on state CM’s twitter handle.

NEET is an annual exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) of the HRD ministry in the month of May. This exam is held for the students to secure admission to state-run and private medical and dental colleges across the country for studying graduate and post-graduate courses.

In the Industry Revolution 4.0, where machines are competing with humans’ cognitive abilities, there is a need to foster pedagogical interventions which nurture students such as that they think critically, raise questions, seek explanations and collaborate for problem-solving.

As technology marches into our daily life and disrupts our way of working, we must adopt it. This is why we believe in life-long learning and skilling to nurture the human advantage.

The genesis of Arc Skills has been a vision and aspiration to seamlessly align everyone in the education ecosystem to progressively cultivate the Generation Z students as active learners with key skills to cope up with the rapidly changing world.

This is performed through the continuous pathway of skill solutions which imbibe a strong foundation as a school student, a higher education student, and a working professional, without giving them a stop gap suboptimal solutions.

We have helped thousands of people, businesses, and schools across the US, UAE, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, India, and Argentina. Our large network of trainers is certified by international curriculum providers and deliver award winning skills development solutions using modern technology and methods.

Skill or ability to do something really well requires special training. Conversations like the need for new-age learning, professional education, and new forms of credentialing etc. are demolishing the boundaries of what we thought as academicians and corporate. The buzz around unemployability and under-employability is exponentially magnified with the dynamic and different pace of change, as the new generation is expected to be the leader for this change.

Generation Z cannot really remember the times before technology, the times before everything was on finger- tips, and as they refuse to be passive learners, the regular showing up in class and attending lectures to make notes, is something they’re least interested in.

Our programme SOAR for K-12 is an integrated pathway, starting from the brink of education is a unique and one of its kind to integrate technology, immersive learning and gamification into a learning programme, designed to address different aspects of socio-emotional skills, fundamental skills and career-based skills.

Our very first programme Skills 21 has had rave reviews throughout the globe for its ability to bring significant changes in the students through real life situations and gamified pedagogy. A seamless connection between academic experiences and real-life situations is a must for the child.

We’re in the age where bots, are taking over the regular jobs which were human-based and as per the recent reports from WEF, 2/3rd of the existing jobs will be obsolete in the next decade. What would remain then is the ability to adapt, the advantage of being human and non-cognitive abilities, which are the drivers for your cognitive skills at large.

As an organisation involved in skilling through sectors, communities, countries, we’ve been constantly evolving ourselves as per the need of the hour and today, I believe, nothing is more critical than the ability to adapt, or to unlearn or learn. To put it into more context, post IQ and EQ the CQ (Change Quotient) has become a critical quotient of this decade.

The Vidyawell Suite — All in One School Management System

VidyaWell school management system

The VidyaWell school management system has been developed by BSN Infotech Private Limited. BSN Infotech is an IT services and staffing solutions company established in the year 2003.

The company, ever since its inception, has been serving many renowned government organisations and private business bodies with top-notch services like website and software development, digital marketing, project outsourcing, and consultancy services.

Why VidyaWell?

Till now, schools have to manage its various departments through manual and paper-based processes. This led to communication gaps between the school and everyone associated with it, and it required huge investments on resources as well. Therefore, after many brainstorming sessions with various schools, BSN Infotech has developed the VidyaWell School Management System.

What is VidyaWell?

VidyaWell is a cloud-based ERP and school management solution that comes with unique integrated technologies and features like geofencing, SMART attendance, iTimetable, Child GPS Tracking, automated attendance notifications, and comprehensive library management etc.

VidyaWell – Important Characteristics

Save Operational Expenses

VidyaWell comes with modules that provide digital circulars, online staff, student and visitor profiles, digital records and much more. It requires lesser staff to manage these digital records and also lets institutions save on paper and operational expenses.

Bridge Communication Gaps

The communication gap between the staff, management, parents, and students within the institution is a big challenge. This software lets parents register complaints online, monitor their children, and assess their reports and results. Likewise, it offers a host of services to the staff and management.

Secured Digital Records

VidyaWell puts all the information of a school in digital format and data on a secure cloud server accessible from anywhere and anytime.

Simplified Management Processes

The SMART modules of the VidyaWell Suite take care of most of the responsibilities of a school’s staff and management. For example, the smart shift management module suggests the availability of other teachers to the management in case a teacher is absent. After selecting a teacher, the software then sends a notification to that teacher.
