
upGrad has announced the appointment of Mukesh Mundra as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), reinforcing the company’s leadership as it accelerates its global expansion in the skilling and workforce development sector.
Operating from Mumbai, Mukesh Mundra will lead the company’s finance and administration functions, with responsibilities spanning financial planning, governance, strategic business partnerships, and operational scalability.
With over 26 years of professional experience, he has worked across diverse industries including media, telecommunications, manufacturing, and consumer businesses. Prior to joining upGrad, he served as the Head of Finance at JioStar. He also played a significant leadership role at Viacom18, where he spent more than eight years as CFO, driving multiple finance transformation and business optimisation initiatives.

Over the course of his career, he has also held senior positions at Idea Cellular, Grasim Industries, and Anand Rathi Group. A qualified Chartered Accountant and Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), he is expected to contribute significantly to upGrad’s long-term growth strategy and international business expansion.
Commenting on the appointment, Ronnie Screwvala highlighted Mukesh’s strong expertise in financial management, governance, and business transformation, stating that his leadership would further strengthen upGrad’s operational capabilities and future growth roadmap.
