Google, Google.org, and UNICEF have launched a three-year global partnership aimed at strengthening AI-powered education and digital learning across India, Brazil, Pakistan, and Kenya.
The initiative will focus on improving literacy, numeracy, teacher training, and access to digital learning tools by combining Google’s AI technologies with UNICEF’s education programmes and local partnerships. AI tools such as Gemini, NotebookLM, Gemini for Education, and ReadAlong will be used to support personalized learning and classroom innovation.
As part of the collaboration, educators will receive training on the responsible use of AI in classrooms, while governments and local communities will be supported in building more accessible and technology-enabled learning systems.

In India, the initiative complements Google’s AI Educator Series, which is being rolled out in partnership with multiple state governments to improve AI literacy among teachers and students in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
UNICEF said the programme is designed to bridge digital divides and ensure that AI-enabled learning opportunities remain inclusive, equitable, and accessible for children and educators across diverse communities.
