Quizizz, an educational technology startup with a presence in India and the United States, announced a $ 12.5 million Series A funding round from Eight Roads Ventures, including GSV Ventures, Rocketship VC and existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and Prime Venture Partners.
In 2020, feedback from teachers affected by the pandemic led the team to expand its product offering. The learning platform now supports more than 60 million people per month and is used in more than 65% of schools in the US.
Co-founders Ankit Gupta and Deepak Cheenath tested the first version of Quizizz when they volunteered for a math program in Bangalore, India. Today, Quizizz has clients in more than 100 countries and is profitable.

With Quizizz, teachers can quickly create fun quizzes and interactive lessons that generate instant feedback from students without the need for a manual grade. Teachers not only reduce the time they spend grading, but they also benefit when their colleagues take over the platform and deliver new content.
Teachers can use and customize more than 30 million tests and lessons ranging from elementary school math to career and technical education. In 2020, students collectively answered more than 13 billion questions on the platform.
