Odisha Classes 10, 12

The Odisha government will reopen schools for Classes 10 and 12 students in July, said Satyabrata Sahu, Principal Secretary, Department of School and Mass Education on Saturday.

All government and private schools will reopen from July 26. However, the government will issue standard operating procedures (SOPs) keeping in mind the entire scenario and COVID guidelines.

Internet connectivity in many parts of the state is weak. According to a news report, 60 percent of the schools in the state took advantage of online learning. “Due to the closing of the schools, students have lost 150 regular teaching days of their academic year. However, online teaching will continue for all Classes including 10 and 12. Attending the physical Classes will be the decision of students,” the Principal Secretary said.

The Secretary also added that students who are not satisfied with the marks awarded to them by the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation process can appear in the offline exams to be held from July 30 to August 5, 2021. This time 2,244 students have applied for the examination. The results will be declared by August 22.

The government has also taken measures to vaccinate all teachers and district education officers on a priority basis.
