Malaysia Education Ministry allocates RM72.1 million to boost ICT in pre-schools

The Education Ministry of Malaysia has allocated RM72.1 million to purchase desktop computers for pupils in pre-school. This is an effort to transform all schools into smart schools.

The Ministry has also allocated RM113 million for software courses to assist teachers and pupils. According to Education Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, smart school is a process to make ICT, a culture in education and aimed to improve the quality of teaching and learning. The Ministry has made an additional allocation of RM72 million for students in rural areas to expose ICT. The Government is aiming to create such 1600 access centres. The Ministry will also supply high powered generators or utilise the hybrid solar technology.
