Students to get 30 minutes extra for CBSE IX class exams

With aim of reducing stress amongst students during their annual examinations, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made an announcement for class IX students to give half an hour extra. Recently, a circular was sent to all the CBSE schools about the conduct of assessment for class IX students and it was suggested that schools are required not be strict about the time limit, allowing students an extra period of half an hour for performing during examination.

According to the circular, the decision was taken into account keeping in mind that the speed at which students answer vary from one to another. With the recent directive of the Board, the level of anxiety among students has decreased and the news of completing the exam in more than the stipulated time has generated confidence.
