An impact that will be remembered for a long time, that is, the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2009, conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). For reasons such as the examination of the year going online; secondly, jitters during conduction of the examination; and thirdly, the first time in history that there was conducted a second phase of examination. The new addition to the list being the CAT 2009 results, which were declared on Sunday, the February 28, 2010.
As soon as the results were announced, the CAT-IIM website was clogged because of 'heavy traffic', told an official. Students were not able to see their CAT scorecards till late in the afternoon. The website, however, could come up with the scorecards only after 6 pm. Successful students are now awaiting calls for a seat in the IIMs across the country. Till yesterday, only IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Shillong announced a short-list of candidates. The other IIMs are expected to announce the short-lists in the coming days.
