Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Launches 41 Books Under PM YUVA 2.0 at NDWBF 2025

Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the release of 41 books under the PM YUVA 2.0 scheme at the New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2025. The event was attended by Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu as the guest of honour, along with several distinguished officials from the Ministry of Education and the National Book Trust (NBT).

During his address, Dharmendra Pradhan lauded the young authors for their creative contributions, emphasizing that their literary works would significantly enrich India’s intellectual and cultural discourse. He acknowledged the efforts of these budding writers and encouraged them to continue promoting India’s literary heritage.

Pradhan also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating the PM YUVA scheme, which has now evolved into a nationwide movement aimed at mentoring and supporting emerging authors. He highlighted how the initiative has played a crucial role in enhancing literary talent and preserving the stories of India’s unsung heroes, particularly those associated with the freedom struggle.

Emphasizing the importance of promoting books in Indian languages, the Minister reaffirmed that making literature accessible across the country is a key national objective. He noted that schemes like PM YUVA and the newly announced ‘Bharatiya Bhasha Pustak Scheme’ in this year’s Union Budget would further strengthen efforts to preserve and promote India’s diverse linguistic heritage.

Pradhan also underscored the pivotal role of the National Book Trust in ensuring that books in Indian languages reach a wider audience. He urged NBT to leverage technology and collaborate with national and international publishers to bring India’s literary traditions to a global platform.

Following the book launch, the Minister toured the Exhibition Halls at NDWBF and commended the NBT for organizing one of the largest book fairs in the world. He described the event as a “Gyan-Kumbh,” bringing together literature, knowledge, languages, and cultures under one roof. He encouraged visitors to explore the fair, engage with books, and interact with authors and fellow literature enthusiasts.

In addition to launching the books under PM YUVA 2.0,  Pradhan also released the Hindi translation of The Saga of Kudopali: The Unsung Story of 1857. He announced that the book would soon be translated into 12 Indian languages and two foreign languages, further expanding its reach. Additionally, he unveiled Sangama Madhavante Randu Krithikal, the Malayalam translation of the works of 14th-century mathematician and astronomer Sri Madhava.

The event was graced by key dignitaries, including Dr Vineet Joshi, Secretary of, the Department of Higher Education; Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of, the Department of School Education and Literacy; Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe, Chairman of NBT; Prof. M. Jagdeesh Kumar, Chairperson of UGC; and  Yuvraj Malik, Director of NBT.
