University of Patanjali prepares future generation for nation-building: President, Ram Nath Kovind

The President, Ram Nath Kovind said that the University of Patanjali is preparing the future generation for nation-building by giving them education based on the idea of indigenous entrepreneurship and employment generation. He said this while gracing the first convocation of the University of Patanjali in Haridwar.

The University of Patanjali is marching on the path set by the National Education Policy to make India a ‘Knowledge Super Power’ by combining our relevant traditional knowledge with modern science, he noted.

He said that efforts made by this university would help Indian knowledge-science, especially Ayurveda and Yoga to attain a prime place on the world stage in modern perspective.

The President was happy to note that the University of Patanjali has established a special cell for international students. He said that through this initiative the Indian values and knowledge tradition can be spread across the world. And this would be a special contribution of this university in the rise of New India of the 21st century.

He said that modern medical science has made amazing progress in the field of treatment with the help of many tools.

However, Ayurveda and Yoga-science have deeply contemplated and researched the best tool developed by the universe i.e. the human body. And through the body itself, it has developed effective ways of treatment, the president added.

IIT Delhi to start placement drive from December 2021 to May 2022

The Office of Career Services (OCS), IIT Delhi will start placement drives in virtual mode and interviews will be conducted from December 1.

Placement drive will continue for six months starting from December, 2021 to the end of May, 2022. The interview will be conducted each day in a single slot that will provide recruiters a scope of making proper judgement and making better hiring decisions, said IIT Delhi in its statement.

Many national and multinational organisations will participate in the IIT placement drive.

IIT Delhi said in its official statement: “This year, industry response to invitations to participate in campus placements of students has been encouraging across sectors. Many organisations have registered with the placement office with an intent to hire graduates of IIT Delhi. There is an increasing registration for new-age technology-based hiring profiles related to data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning in addition to traditional profiles. The campus looks forward to a robust hiring session this season.”

“This year, the placement season will commence in a virtual mode in December 2021 like last year. Students are gearing up for placement interviews in a digital mode with innovative and newer patterns of interaction maximising the use of technology. OCS, IIT Delhi plans company schedules with an attempt to create an optimum environment for both the recruiters and the students to be interviewed. It is an effort to make this process as congenial as possible for all stakeholders,” IIT Delhi added further.

IIM-Udaipur focuses on digital transformation and to conduct webinar on December 2-3, 2021

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur will hold a webinar on the future of Digital Business Transformation titled ‘D’Future’ on December 2 and December 3, 2021.

The webinar will cover the institution’s efforts in digital technologies. It will have the presence of experts such as renowned professors and international authors.

On December 2, Professor Janat Shah, Founding Director, IIM Udaipur will start the inaugural session. There will be discussion on digital transformation and its impact on customers, the Binary Switch – Digital transformation and the future of business, the Transformation Myth: Leading Your Organization through Uncertain Times, and Society 2.0 -The Rise of Digital Anthropology.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Sunil Gupta, Edward W Carter Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School on his recent book ” Driving Digital Strategy: A Guide to Reimagining Your Business.

Professor Srinivas Pingali, Professor of Practice, IIM Udaipur, Ms Bidisha Nagraj, VP Marketing Global Marketing (CMO) Schneider Electric India and Board Director Schneider Infrastructure Ltd, Ms Kavita Chaturvedi, COO, ITC Snack Foods Business and Mr Simon Thomas, Avanade, Singapore will be the panelists.

On the second day (December 3), the keynote address will be delivered by Dr Gerald Kane, Professor of Information Systems, Carroll School of Management, Boston College.

Haryana to establish AIIMS in Rewari and foundation stone to be laid soon

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be set up in Rewari and the foundation stone would be laid soon, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said recently.

All the construction formalities have been completed for starting the projects of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), added the Chief Minister.

Not only this, the chief minister also inaugurated four development projects worth Rs 40 crore. However, the chief minister laid the foundation stone for 14 projects at a cost of Rs 112 crore.

Congratulating people on Constitution Day, Khattar said that the country’s democracy, federal structure and governance works due to the constitution.

Schools and Colleges in Delhi to reopen from November 29 as air quality improves

The schools and colleges in Delhi will reopen from November 26. Due to the improvement of the air quality, the Delhi government has decided to reopen schools for offline classes.

“Air quality in Delhi is improving now. Schools, colleges, educational institutes to re-open from November 29 in Delhi,” Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai said recently.

Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party recently held a review meeting that included experts who took a call on the reopening of schools, colleges and universities.

After remaining closed for 20 months due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority authorised the reopening of schools from November 1.

The government and private schools in Haryana will reopen from December 1.

The schools will have to follow strict Covid protocols, said the education minister Kanwar Pal. If the covid cases increases then the government will take decisions on it accordingly after discussion.

The schools will reopen in Gurugram from today itself. The schools in Gurugram were closed down earlier till November 17 due to the air pollution.

The state government closed down schools as the air quality deteriorated in four cities of Haryana namely–Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat and Jhijar.

In addition, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar earlier mentioned about providing free tablets to students of Class 11 and 12 and purchasing five lakh tablets for the students in the next academic session. A total of Rs 560 crore will be spent to purchase the tablets.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE) results have been declared for MA, MSc and MCA courses. The students can check the results on the official website–jnuee.jnu.ac.in.

“M.A./M.Sc./M.C.A. Results are available now. Enter your Application number and Date of birth to check your status,” the result website said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the new campus of Dr B R Ambedkar School of Economic University.

On December 6, the Prime Minister will open the new campus. This was said by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s office on Wednesday.

“The university has come up on the Jnanabharathi Campus of Bengaluru University. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai held a meeting this evening to oversee the preparation for the inaugural programme,” the CMO said in a statement.

Ministers V Somanna, CN Ashwathnarayan, Muniratna and senior officials Kumar Naik, Gaurav Gupta, Selvakumar and Chancellor of the university Dr Bhanumurthy participated in the meeting, the statement said.

Assam to restructure school education policy in the state

Assam to restructure school

The Assam Cabinet decided to restructure the state education policy, which will align with the New National Education Policy (NEP). The new policy will focus on four categories such as foundation, preparatory, elementary and senior secondary education.

The foundation category will be for five years until Class 2 and the next three years will be preparatory. However, the elementary category will comprise classes six, seven and eight. Classes 9 to 12 will be the senior secondary.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this after discussing with the cabinet in the state.

The change in structure will be announced by April 2022 and new syllabus will be introduced from April 1, 2023. The National Education Policy (NEP) will comprise 12 years of school, three years of preschool and structure will be 5+3+3+4.

The state government will also focus on training youths and provide them with employment in all-India government services and admission into medical and engineering colleges.
