In the light of Corona crisis, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as revised its academic calendar for new admission as well as existing batches for the year 2020-21. The AICTE revised academic calendar has been structured keeping the new UGC guidelines in mind.
The institutes affiliated to AICTE have been asked to follow the revised UGC academic guidelines regarding examination.
As per the revised academic calendar, classes from existing batches will begin from 17th August onwards. The Universities have been instructed to start classes on the scheduled date in online or offline or blended mode following the protocols or guidelines prescribed for curbing of COVID-19 pandemic.
For fresh batches, the AICTE has instructed for the first round of counselling and admission process to allotted seats in the affiliated institutions to b completed by 5th October 2020. The second round of counselling and seat allotment is to be concluded by 15th October 2020 as per the revised guidelines.
AICTE has instructed classes for fresh batches, including those through lateral entry in the second year, to be started from 15th October 2020 onwards. The last date for admitting students to the new academic year is 20th October 2020, said AICTE.
The classes for the newly admitted students are to begin by 10th August 2020 while classes for continuing students of PGCM and PGDM courses are to start by 15th July 2020 as per the revised academic calendar. Admission deadline affixed by AICTE for students under open and distance learning courses is 30th August 2020 and 28th February 2021 respectively.
