NTA declares NEET 2021 results; Meet the toppers of entrance exams

NTA declares NEET 2021 results

The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 result for undergraduate aspirants today.

The candidates can check the results in the official website website-neet.nta.nic.in. The National Testing agency has sent the score cards to the students by email.

We have listed the name of the top NEET toppers below:

Mrinal Kutteri from Hyderabad obtained 720 out of 720 and has secured All India Ranking 1 in NEET 2021

Tanmay Gupta from Delhi secured All India Rank 2 in NEET 2021.

Karthika G Nair from Mumbai secured third rank and is the female topper in NEET result.

At Rank 4 is Aman Kumar Tripathi with 716 marks and All India Rank 5 in NEET 2021 has been secured by Nikhar Bansal from Agra with 715 marks.

The NEET UG 2021 exam was held on September 12. Over 16 lakh students appeared for the examination.

First Year Undergraduate classes begin in Odisha

First Year Undergraduate classes

Physical classes for first-year undergraduate programmes for the 2021-22 academic year in Odisha have started. The higher education department said that the UG students need to follow covid protocols.

Classroom teaching has been suspended since the Covid 19 pandemic. Saswat Mishra, Principal Secretary said in a letter that face masks are mandatory and social distancing should also be maintained.

Classroom teaching will be provided to students from November 15.

Hostel facilities will also be provided to students but proper covid 19 guidelines will be followed.

Physical classes started for Classes 10 and 12 on July 256 onwards and Class 11 started from October 21.

Schools in Kerala are set to reopen from today. Classes have started from 1to 7, 10 and 12. Thousands of students were excited to step into the schools and the schools welcomed students after such a prolonged period.

The school authorities tested the temperature of students, provided sanitizers and ensured everyone was wearing masks. The school authorities gifted packets like books, pens, masks, balloons and sanitizers. Even teachers were quite excited to welcome the students.

“Online classes have their own advantage but we may not get proper feedback at times. I am very much happy that the schools are now reopened and we could meet the children. We could teach them and spend time with them. However, we need to be extra careful as the pandemic is still here,“ Deepa, a teacher from a school in Ernakulam, told a news agency.

Meanwhile, the parents were also excited that the children will spend time in school as they were confined within the four walls of the house for a long time now.

The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan said over 95 percent of the population beyond 18 years of age are vaccinated. The new covid cases have reduced and the state has been able to relax and reopen schools.

The guidelines prepared by the Health and Education departments has to be strictly followed by the schools, he said.

He further said the schools need to follow covid protocols and maintain social distancing and ensure cleanliness in classrooms and the surroundings.

Gurushala conducts training of teachers on Hybrid Learning in Classrooms

Gurushala has conducted a one-day workshop session on the transitioning into Hybrid classrooms which was attended by teachers from various districts of Telangana and Nagaland.

Gurushala is a free of cost online teacher training and professional development initiative implemented by Pratham Education Foundation and funded by Vodafone Foundation and Indus Towers Ltd.

The initiative aims to build the capacity and skills of school teachers to effectively use digital technology to positively impact the learning levels of students.

The covid-19 pandemic has changed the education system forever. Most of the schools have been under the lockdown for long periods and are struggling to continue with the online teaching and learning classrooms. While most schools are opening and preparing to welcome students back to their classes, many parents are reluctant to send their children to schools and prefer online education. Keeping this in mind, Gurushala conducted the session intending to cater and engage with teachers to assist them on how to manage Hybrid classrooms in these times.

Gurushala invited Ms. Nikita Singhal, Founder of A Better Life to share her valuable insights and experiences with teachers.

She explained that Hybrid classrooms means bringing technology in the classrooms and for that to happen, schools need to take a collaborative approach, keeping the needs of both students and teachers in mind.

Nikita also shared how learning gaps can be bridged in classrooms and how teachers can overcome the challenges of post covid classroom setup.

The session was designed to engage teachers and provide them with strategies to enhance their pedagogical practices which they can adopt in their classroom especially now that schools are resumed. Curated in the context to also give an understanding of hybrid models in the classroom and how it would be more helpful for the students.

Schools and Colleges in the national capital reopening today

Schools and colleges in Delhi are reopening for all classes from today. After a prolonged closure in the view of COVID 19 pandemic, the educational institutions were shut down in the national capital.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has resumed offline classes for schools and colleges for all students now.

“All the schools and educational institutes shall be allowed to be opened, for all the classes, in Delhi from 1st Nov. However, schools shall also continue online classes for the students who are not willing to attend classes offline,” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish SIsodia had tweeted last week.

All teachers and staff who are not vaccinated even with the first dose will not be allowed to attend schools. It is important that teachers, staff and non-staff are vaccinated against deadly coronavirus.

However, it is not compulsory for parents to send their children to school. Hybrid learning methods will continue that will enhance teaching and learning. Classes for 9 to 12 have already started since September onwards.

Schools in Puducherry to reopen from November 8 For Classes 1 To 8

Puducherry schools reopen from November 8 in order to conduct physical classes of grade 1 to 8.

The incidence of Covid 19 cases have come down in the Union Territory and this is the reason the government has decided to allow physical classes for grade one to eight.

From September 1, the classes have already started for students of 9 and 12 grades.

The decision to reopen schools was taken by Puducherry Education Minister A Namassivayam recently.

Namassivayam said that the schools need to adhere to COVID protocols and all necessary standard operating procedures.

He also mentioned that it is not compulsory to send students to school. The consent of parents is also necessary for the safety of a child.

According to the norms, the Students of class 1, 3, 5 and 7 standards would have classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while the students of grade 2, 4, 6 and 8 would have classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

However, the online classes will continue as usual along with the offline mode.

Mizoram Allows Reopening Of Schools For Class 10, 12

Students seen in the way after the State government allowed schools to reopen

Schools in Mizoram reopen for Classes 10 and 12 as the state government is easing Covid restrictions in the state.

The schools will reopen in Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) for the students, an official said.

Schools and hostels will be allowed to reopen in AMC areas and new guidelines will come into place from October 31.

Infact, other educational institutions have reopened in Covid-free areas outside AMC since September 5.

The schools and other institutions need to follow the covid protocols. The deputy commissioners will also issue guidelines so that safety and standards are maintained. All villages and towns are permitted to reopen under the supervision of deputy commissioner in consultation with district level officers of the village task force and health department.

 

IGNOU exempts UG and PG students from first year term end exams

The students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses studying in first year in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) have been exempted from appearing for term end examination.

The decision has been taken for the students enrolled in the July 2020 admission session.

However, the students pursuing master degree will be marked on the basis of their average marks and grades secured in the term-end examination of the second year. There will be no exemption in submitting practicals, assignments, projects, fieldwork journals and other requirements.

IGNOU will hold exams for second year bachelor degree programmes. In an official statement shared by the IGNOU, “The examination fees already paid by the students for the Term-end-Examination, June 2021 for the exempted courses will be adjusted against the examination fee payable for the second year courses.”

“The students who do not want the exemption may appear for the Term-end-Examination of the first year courses in the Term-end-Examinations, December 2021 or afterwards till the expiry of the maximum duration of the Programme, subject to the fulfillment of the other eligibility conditions,” the university added further.

Karnataka Govt, ISDC To Host New National Educational Policy Conclave

The UK-based International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) and the Karnataka Government will host the National Education Policy (NEP) conclave on November 13.

Karnataka Minister of Higher Education and Skill Development Ashwath Narayan CN will be the Chief Guest in the conclave.

“India is a young nation with a rich demographic dividend. The past two decades, the country has catapulted to being one of the thriving knowledge economies, owing to its IT and consumer led growth,” said Tom M Joseph, Executive Director, Strategy and Development, ISDC, the UK.

“The recently announced National Education Policy 2020 can lead to an orbital shift with its focus on transforming the education sector through investments into various areas of skill development including project-based learning, experiential learning, service-learning and vocational training,” he added.

“The NEP Conclave 2021 is a step towards achieving vibrant, equitable and empowering education and skill development infrastructure in the state. We are proud to be a part of this initiative,” Joseph also added.

 

University Of Allahabad cancels offline examinations for semester students

The University of Allahabad recently cancelled the offline examination for different semesters. The students of Semester 2, Semester 4, Semester 6 and Semester 8 will be promoted now on the basis of internal assessment marks.

The classes will start after Diwali vacations in both online and offline mode.

“The classes will continue in offline mode from December 17 keeping the then prevailing Covid conditions in view,” the university added.

The annual examinations will be conducted after the second week of March in offline mode.

The university in its social media posts said, “The offline exams of the even semesters(2,4,6,8) stand cancelled and the students will be promoted on the basis of their internal assessment marks.”

“The students will be promoted to the higher semester and their classes will start after Diwali vacations in hybrid(online/offline) mode,” it added.
